CBS giving Anna Nicole Smith’s judge a show?

Thursday, March 1st, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

I was one of the zillions of people who tuned into CNN when the judge in the Anna Nicole case was issuing his verdict… although I admit, nothing else happened to be on TV at the time, so the choice was kind of made up for me. And I had not seen any of the judge’s coverage, despite seeing random “This judge is nuts” in various headlines in my travels through the web. And boy, what I saw was shocking… random ramblings about his wife, his kids, how he had a baby so late in life… in other words, it was all about HIM rather than about what everyone was really there for… finding out the fate of Anna Nicole’s body. And that was before he turned on the waterworks.

My reaction? This guy wants to be the next Judge Judy. Well, it looks like I’m right.

CBS is reportedly creating a new segment for its weekend “Early Show,” featuring the quirky, charismatic judge.

“I have been extremely impressed by your compassion in the Anna Nicole case, and I would love to discuss with you the idea of being a judge on a new segment, ‘Morning Justice’,” Michael Rosen, the show’s senior producer, wrote in a letter to the judge.

And you thought Judge Judy was annoying…

Brian Austin Green to play gay writer in CBS pilot

Monday, February 26th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Brian Austin Green, best known for Beverly Hills 90210, although more recently on Freddie, has been cast in a new CBS pilot.

Former “Beverly Hills, 90210″ star Brian Austin Green will play a gay man in a new comedy pilot from the creators of “Will & Grace.”

The untitled CBS project, from David Kohan and Max Mutchnick, is about two friends and writing partners, one straight and one gay (Green), and the women working with them (Jessica Capshaw, Vanessa Lengies). The project is loosely based on Kohan and Mutchnick’s friendship.

Funny, I can totally picture him playing a gay character… I remember during his 90210 days thyinking they so easily could have made his character gay, before (or after!) Donna and her virginity got to him!

Janeane Garofalo & Rachael Carpani to star in CBS legal drama pilot

Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

I have always enjoyed Janeane Garofalo, but she just doesn’t seem to be in enough movies or shows for my liking. She did have a successful turn on The West Wing as Louise Thornton in its final season. Now she has signed on to a new CBS drama, which will begin work on the pilot for a possible pickup for Fall 2007.

Rachael Carpani, the Australian actress known for McLeod’s Daughters, is also set to co-star in the project.

Barry Schindel (Numb3rs) is the executive producer the drama, which will revolve around a group of public defenders, with Garofalo as their so-called leader. The unofficial working title of the project is Law Dogs.

CBS has ordered Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith medical pilot

Wednesday, October 11th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

CBS has ordered up a medical drama pilot from the team of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, who were behind the successful series All of Us. The untitled drama will be set at the CDC - Centers for Disease Control & Prevention.

Based on an idea by the acting couple, the untitled drama is described as a mix of mysterious and emotional stories. It chronicles the medical adventures of the CDC doctors who fight the diseases and viruses that threaten people worldwide.

Jan Nash and Jennifer Levin will write the pilot script, having worked together on CBS’ crime drama “Without a Trace.”

No word if Mr. and Mrs. Smith will be appearing in the series as well. I would love to see Will Smith back on a television show again!
